Definitely a must-read for upcoming artists . I relate to this book way more than comfortably acceptable. I Would love to meet Elizabeth she seems like such a cool person to talk to.
  • Wonderful

This is the best book I have read about writing and creativity. I just wished I would have read it in my twenties instead of my sixties. We should just go out and create.
  • Loved it!

Great insights, great advice and a great book to read and read again. Thank you Liz!
  • A unique perspective on creativity

    By Eventjubilee
I purchased this book on a whim-- hoping to be inspired-- and i wasn't disappointed. I own a creative business, and Elizabeth's notion of "big magic" in creative ideas really struck me. I don't think i'll look at ideas and how they come into our lives, the same. This was a wonderful read, and i highly recommend it for the creative entrepreneur. Thank you Liz for bringing big magic into our lives!

Brava Liz Gilbert! And thanks and praise. Inspiration, encouragement, and humor on every page.
  • A waste of ink

    By SisterLum
I bought this book against my better judgement because a friend was in love with it and wanted to get my reaction. Well, it's not good. Gilbert has two main points (that aren't all that magical anyway) and she takes a whole book to say it. And say it again. And again in different words. I tried. I wanted to like it. But I didn't. If I could give a lower star rating I would. Save your money.
  • Hits the mark!

Great creative advice from a most creative and most caring Liz Gilbert. Given my own 40+ creative career I'd also share: "The danger for most of us lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short, but in setting our aim too low and hitting the mark."- Michelangelo Dream big!
  • Magical Words

    By Shelbyr0923
Liz Gilbert has a way with words, as the saying goes. Reading this book felt like I was getting a front row seat to how her mind works, and that was nothing short of inspiring for me. I've been sitting on the sidelines, itching to write, and now I'm pumped to get in the game. I picked up this book on the recommendation of a colleague. I'm grateful I did.
  • Nailed it!

Have you ever read a book you didn't even know you needed to read? That's what 'Big Magic' was to me. I wasn't looking for this book, but it found me and I'm so glad it did.
  • Better than expected

    By Beziac
I am both a reader and a writer, and I was not expecting much of Big Magic. Mostly because I don't generally care for self-help books. However, if you are looking to be inspired, this is a great book for you. I can tell you right now that while I was reading I had at least three new ideas for short stories, and started writing right away. I could say I felt the Big Magic being transferred from the book to me. The book is about creativity and what you do with your creations. Or rather, what creating do to you. It accomplishes its purpose, it is a helpful read.
