Reviews

  • Really, 40$ 4 an army that only looks cool

As a person who retails Games Workshop products, this is yet another staple of proof that we do not care about our customers, do not read the reviews and try to rectify ourselves, only care about money and people with it, and worst off, have made a mockery of small business people like me who have faithfully played this game for years.
  • Actually pretty good.

As an update to the WD Codex this is actually pretty good. Celestine is really well balanced now, Jacobus no longer looks like an automatic choice and Dominions can alpha strike this, even if they want to hide in cover. They even made the humble Priest useful! Oh, and the Exorcist is cheaper now too. They only real flaws are Repentia who suffered a nerf, the Canoness isn't quite really useful outside of unlocking the Command Squad, and Acts of Faith are locked down to a single attempt per turn (without unlocking extra uses of the Act through wargear). Overall though I've found this to be a fairly solid update thanks to points cost cuts over most of the codex (yes, a couple of things did get more expensive but for the most part the costs of most things going down makes up for it) and the usefulness of just about the wargear in the book. Honestly, despite the parts it falls short on it's not a bad update and helped inject some life into an army that's waiting for a real option update someday.
  • Great book!

The new book is great. It is a welcome improvement to the white dwarf codex. If you are a long time sisters player then you will love it. If you're looking for the latest power army then you should pass. There is potential to make competitive armies with this book (much more so than before), but it is by no means broken or overpowered.
  • DONT BUY

Read the reviews of this codex, GW has officially destroyed this army. They have no practical use, even as allies to IG. Every functional character has been nerfed to extinction. Even characters with long established roles like Uriah have been reduced to uselessness. Don't buy the overly expensive pewter units either, you're wasting your money. I only hope I can sell mine on eBay, but extremely doubtful. GW has been trying to get rid of this army for years, and this codex does just that. Remember, no returns!!!! Don't be a victim.
  • Do Not Buy

The codex crashes every time I try and open it. It's useless in its current condition. It seems like it was never even tested prior to being released. I'm sure it will be updated eventually but until then it's pointless to buy it. Shame on GW to release this in its current condition.
  • Not enough value for the money

There is very little additional information, and a bunch of rule updates are absolutely damaging to my army. Also, if I'm paying a premium for an enhanced book, I expect a little more then a few extra pages. Cost as much as a space marine codex (physical), but it had 200 pages or more of awesome background information. Games workshop, you did it again, you put money ahead of your customers!!!
  • To all the whiners...

To all the whiners thinking the new models for the Sister of Battle are too expensive, nobody's putting a gun to your heads, forcing you to buy them. Virtually every model from previous codices can be used in this one, and I doubt people who've played SoB for years will be disappointed with this new codex. I know I won't be, as I've been playing them since 2006, long enough to have a darn good army built up...
  • Hoping GW Releases More Sisters!

The Sisters of Battle are one of the best themed armies i've ever seen, so often there are so many chauvanistic games out there, with the exception of the repentia, the sisters have escaped this, keep it up GW!
