Description

Ok, I'll admit it - My mother in law used to be a sex worker. She worked in a brothel, as an escort and, as a madame in and around Sydney Australia in the late '80s. It's something that she has confided in few people outside her immediate family until me. We are polar opposites in many ways but we get each other - as a result I have become the confidante in her life which is how this series has been born.

The exact year was 1989; Angelien was 32 when she made the decision to enter a brothel to help support herself and her two sons. She quickly became the most popular girl there with her Kathleen Turner looks and her excellent 'acting' skills.

This is a biography about friendship, discovery and of course sex.

Confidante: The Brothel is a collection of Angelien's most memorable stories of her month working in the brothel.

Reviews

  • Not really a story more like a journal. Basically a manual.

It reads like a journal with an instruction manual. Angelien has many experiences in her life. She does not seem to stay at one job for very long. Her beauty seems to be her driving factor for attracting the repeat clients. This lifestyle apparently began at an early age and not Angelien's doing. Circumstances in her life and choices along the way carved this path of life for her. When you open one door it opens many other doors. Angelien got to experience many different sexual parties. While the young girls experienced problems with jealousy, Angelien did not. Maybe her age had something to do with it. Instead, it was the men who became too attached to her. Angelien had a steady following of regulars. It seems once in the industry you never leave. Once comfortable and acquainted with this environment you continue to get offers for various other types of jobs entertaining men. This lifestyle was easy for her since she was popular and requested by the same men. Typical of a man to turn his nose at a women for working at a brothel when it should be the men being judged for needing to go to a brothel to begin with. Angelien slept with 170 men in one month and that was only her. One woman was servicing the needs of all these men. Very rarely did she get pleasure out of the encounter. Men and women are so quick to judge, but men want sex and apparently will do anything to acquire it. Does not seem to matter if the men are gay, married, engaged, dating, or professionals. Men from all walks of life want and need sex. I was disappointed the story did not discuss how Angelien had two sons and with whom. No previous history was disclosed other than her first few encounters with boys she dated at fifteen.

Did not know what to expect when I started reading this. Could not put it down. Excellent read and gives you insight into something you may never know about. Definitely going to have to read the escort one. Did have some laughs in it also. 👍👍👍
