Description

Sometimes the deepest scars are the ones you don't see.

Everyone in Jonesville thought that Bryce Evans had the perfect life in High School: he was the Mayor’s son, the quarterback for the football team, the boyfriend of the head cheerleader and had a 4.1 GPA. His acceptance to Notre Dame came as no surprise but when he chose to enlist in the marines instead everyone was shocked.
Lexi Lord was the quiet girl in school and kept to her small group of eccentric friends. She had no connection to any of the popular kids except for one incident on Prom Night when her path crossed with Bryce’s.

When Bryce enlisted Lexi was the only one that wasn’t disappointed and decided to send him anonymous letters as a way to feel connected to him. She stopped after a year because she felt there was nowhere for their relationship to go.
Fast-forward four years and Bryce is back in Jonesville and once again he and Lexi cross paths. Only he’s no longer the seemingly perfect man and Lexi’s no longer the quiet girl.

This time their relationship is quite different but both of them have secrets from the past and friends that threaten to ruin their chance at happiness together.

I tried real hard to like this book. It never fully captured all my attention and then the end hit me ... there is no end it was left on a cliffhanger. I will not be reading any more from this author

To me, Bryce was feminine-like, and if I didn't know that Bryce was a man, I would of totally thought he was a female. I love Cooper's books, but this one, I just can't.

This book is so amazing, and I was upset that it ended so abruptly. Purchasing the next one soon. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

When I first started reading this I was into it, but as I went on they just seemed EXTREMELY childish. It went on forever before things were revealed and once they were there was basically no reaction to it! 👎🏻
  • The dialogue is fitting for a young adult. It's a quick read.

The dialogue is melodramatic and cheesy. I feel like I'm reading a book meant for a junior high school girl. It would have been nice if Ms. Cooper had labeled the chapters indicating the POV. Bryce is a marine. Yet the story is not about his time in the Marines. Lexi wrote letters to Bryce while he served his time in the Marines. She signed the letters miss so Bryce would not know it was her. When Bryce returned home he tried to figure out who miss was. Lexi is living life with blinders on. She is too forgiving. I think the saying fits this story,"be careful what you wish for". What an abrupt ending.

This book doesn't have a conclusion. True books have a conclusion. I will not buy a book from an author only to have to buy the second half later. This is deceitful. I'm just gland this was free

This book was so good it was almost like a fairy tale with today's society. I enjoyed it very much.

Just FYI, this book should've came with a warning label. This book has a few dark topics that they should be warned about before they start reading...
