Description

From #1 New York Times bestselling author David Baldacci comes a moving family drama about learning to love again after heartbreak and loss.

ONE SUMMER

It's almost Christmas, but there is no joy in the house of terminally ill Jack and his family. With only a short time left to live, he spends his last days preparing to say goodbye to his devoted wife, Lizzie, and their three children. Then, unthinkably, tragedy strikes again: Lizzie is killed in a car accident. With no one able to care for them, the children are separated from each other and sent to live with family members around the country. Just when all seems lost, Jack begins to recover in a miraculous turn of events. He rises from what should have been his deathbed, determined to bring his fractured family back together. Struggling to rebuild their lives after Lizzie's death, he reunites everyone at Lizzie's childhood home on the oceanfront in South Carolina. And there, over one unforgettable summer, Jack will begin to learn to love again, and he and his children will learn how to become a family once more.

I typed this nice review out only for Apple to say ID taken. Piece of crap. A great read. Definitely worth the time, energy and emotions that were brought out of me.

Disappointed in Baldachi's book One Summer. Although a departure from his others novels, I found this to be a bit soppy and highly predictable as to the eventual outcome of the characters depicted. I found myself "fast forwarding" the pages knowing what would occur at each turn. I am still an ardent fan of the author, but thought he missed the mark on this one.

that Baldacci had a sensitive side. I have always enjoyed his novels but really hesitated to pick this one up as romance is not my first choice and normally stay away from them. Great "sitting on the beach" read.

I have read over 300 books the last year and this is, by far, the most touching, inspirational , thrilling book I have ever read. David Baldacci will touch every heart , of every person , who reads this book. It is awesome.

I had tears rolling down my cheeks before I hit page 20. This book very much related to my life and brought some unwanted skeletons to come out of the closet. None the less, I started and finished the book within 8 hours (I couldn't put it down). A heartwarming great story that no one could make up, even if they tried. A must read for all ages if you've been through a death of a parent, death of a spouse, change, rough relationships, and starting over. It's an easy read and I would recommend it everyone I know.

Another great novel by a master wordsmith. Thank you for taking the courage to extend the breadth of your work

An excellent spy thriller writer should stay there... Very disappointing, predictable, drawn out book.. I have read about 15 of David Baldacchi's spy thrillers and they are by far the best I have ever read.. But this, I almost couldn't make it to the end.. It is a drama beach read....
