#1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • The incomparable hero of Jack Reacher: Never Go Back takes readers to school in his most explosive novel yet. After eleven straight global #1 bestsellers, discover the thrillers that The New York Times calls “utterly addictive.”

It’s 1996, and Reacher is still in the army. In the morning they give him a medal, and in the afternoon they send him back to school. That night he’s off the grid. Out of sight, out of mind.

Two other men are in the classroom—an FBI agent and a CIA analyst. Each is a first-rate operator, each is fresh off a big win, and each is wondering what the hell they are doing there.

Then they find out: A Jihadist sleeper cell in Hamburg, Germany, has received an unexpected visitor—a Saudi courier, seeking safe haven while waiting to rendezvous with persons unknown. A CIA asset, undercover inside the cell, has overheard the courier whisper a chilling message: The American wants a hundred million dollars.”

For what? And who from? Reacher and his two new friends are told to find the American. Reacher recruits the best soldier he has ever worked with: Sergeant Frances Neagley. Their mission heats up in more ways than one, while always keeping their eyes on the prize: If they don’t get their man, the world will suffer an epic act of terrorism.

From Langley to Hamburg, Jalalabad to Kiev, Night School moves like a bullet through a treacherous landscape of double crosses, faked identities, and new and terrible enemies, as Reacher maneuvers inside the game and outside the law.

Praise for Night School

“The prose is crisp and clean, and the fighting is realistic. . . . This latest installment has all the classic ingredients: a great setting (Hamburg), a good villain, and a mystery that draws you in efficiently, escalates unpredictably, and has a satisfying resolution.”The New Yorker
“Another timely tour de force . . . The taut thriller is textbook [Lee] Child: fast-paced and topical with a ‘ripped from the headlines’ feel.”—Minneapolis Star-Tribune
“As gripping as ever.”The Florida Times-Union

  • Night School

I absolutely love Lee Child's Jack Reacher character and his books!! I have read everyone of them!! I am a huge fan but was SO disappointed when they cast someone as small as Tom Cruise to play Jack Reacher! What happened to 6 foot 5 inches of pure muscle!! Just saying............
  • Lame

It seems that Lee Child has run out of gas… This book lacked everything.
  • I always wanted to read this book!

I’m glad I finally took the plunge!
  • No depth.

While the plot is interesting, Child just seems to plod along, exchanging depth for progression. At way less than 400 pages, why not develop the characters? Stripped of personal depth, his characters are just that: characters that only serve the plot. At times I kept asking, "Is he even trying?"

I love Jack Reacher books, having read most of them. This one, however, just drags on and on. The story is weak and all the over-written descriptions are maddening.

Certainly not his best work. The plot is slow and difficult to believe.
  • Child is obviously out of ideas

    By Tailgunner55
Unlike all the other Reacher books - which I thoroughly enjoyed and read multiple times - I couldn't wait to finish this one so I could move on to a book that was actually entertaining. I kept thinking it would get better but I was wrong. The writing was muddled and directionless. The plot boring. The action so typical of the prior books was simply missing. I think Child is tired of Reacher and his writing in Night School definitely reflects it. If you really want to read this one, wait until the price is half of what it was when released and you will still be doing yourself a disservice by buying it. I gave it two stars because I was able to finish it but otherwise would have given it only one.
  • Horrible

I have read all of the Reacher books, and this one was so far different than the others, it seems it was written by someone else. It was boring, repetitive and downright awful. I'm a voracious reader, but no more Reacher. I'll stick with Lucas Davenport!
  • A Passing grade at Night School.

Not one of my favorites in the series. The story had some good moments, the ancillary characters shallow and predictable. And yet Reacher and Neagly shine. The bar has been set high in this series and overall Child's meets it, though some of it derivative. A worthy effort.
  • This book was boring

I really like reacher books but this one is drawn out and boring I like when they're more action-packed and unrealistic. I say read it if you have nothing else to read.
