This is the diary of Burn Rivers.

Bernadette Rivers has had enough. Always the fat friend and fat twin, she's ready to be more.
This summer she's going to lose the weight that's been holding her back.
As determined as she is, Burn knows she can't do it alone.
Enter Warren Grey; ex-high school hottie and stereotypical jock. He is everything that tormented her about high school but she knows he's exactly what she needs.
With a distant mother, a sister with poor taste, a polar opposite best friend and enough insecurities to fill the Grand Canyon, can she learn to love the skin she's in?

And then, of course, there's Fred.

I loved this story so much, it was honest and relatable and so true. It had an incredible message about loving yourself and it was inspiring. Would definitely recommend- can't wait to read the next one!

Loved it! There was just something about the story that hooked me early on in the reading. I stayed up till one in the morning to finish it before I could fall asleep.

Lighthearted, enjoyable read and as a woman who has always struggled with body image, I like the way the story unfolded and the main character developed confidence. The one thing I really struggled with is that the authors uses the word 'marathon' to describe a 5k. At another point the 'marathon' is described as a half marathon. As someone who runs a lot of races, it both irked and amused me as there is a huge difference between 3.1 miles (a 5k) and 26.2 miles (42 kilometers). The abrupt ending left me double checking I hadn't missed a page...

This was such a great read, I honestly could relate to the character so much, that most of the story just broke my heart right along with her! I loved the journey of learning to love herself that she goes on & can't wait to find out how it continues!

  • Amazing

I think there might be a few spelling and/or grammar mistakes. This book is extremely good but I don't like the cliff hanger at the end because I want to know but as I am writing this the second book is not out yet and I am completely dying. I would recommend reading the book because it's unbelievably good and not what I expected when I read the title although as I was reading the book it became a bit easier to think of what generally happens in the book.

I absolutely loved this book. Yes, it had some errors both grammatically and linguistically but the message of it was fantastic. As a "fat girl" myself, I felt inspired, saddened, and actually felt for once in my life that I wasn't the only "fat girl" to be anorexic. I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read and always remember that beauty shines from all sizes.
